Kathleen is well-versed in anatomy and offers alignment-based classes, that educate and empower through intelligent movement. She encourages a meditation in motion during practice thus connecting us through our physicality to a deeper, divine self. Learn to be present, learn to grow. Kathleen has been teaching yoga since 1999. Currently, Kathleen continues studying most recently with Nikki Costello and Ame Wren, Boston Yoga School, and more.
Kathleen started studying pilates in 1995 at as a modern dance major at Brockport State. In 2010, Kathleen returned to studying pilates intensely and became certified with Joy Karley in New York City. She then worked with Metro Fitness for six years in The Pilates Studio. She offered one-on-one sessions on Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, and Tower from 2010-2016, and continues to teach Pilates Mat. See schedule for details.
Studying so many movement styles and methods, including Somatics (certified Level 1), Feldenkrais Method, Alexander Technique, Tai chi, Qi Gong, and Capoeira, yoga, pilates, dance, fitness, personal training, Kathleen’s knowledge of movement and anatomy is deep.
Kathleen founded YogaSyracuse, which gives back free yoga to the community. YogaSyracuse also provides personalized yoga, pilates, or meditation classes. Kathleen also coordinates Pop Up YogaSyracuse and launched Clinton Square Sunrise Yoga and Syracuse CoWorks Rooftop Yoga, all free to the public. She has a desire for spreading compassion through this work.
